| I am an award-winning, internationally published writer and poet, whose work has been featured, antholgized and translated. Also, I wrote a human interest column for a Florida publication. For over ten years I founded, edited, and published the highly acclaimed "White Heron Literary Review." WHEN THE SONG LEFT THE SEA, my first novel, is a story of loss, love and redemption. As the great Gray whale is one of the primary characters, we are asked to consider if we are worthy of the privilege of acting as stewards of our fragile planet. The skeleton of the story asks us to first know ourselves, then share this knowlege with one another; and only then let our sense of responsibility and wisdom radiate out to a world on the verge of a very real catastrophe.

| Besides writing and reading, and studying what I believed worth studying, I grew deeply interested in Music. As a student of Comparative Religions & Mysticism I became involved, both theoretically and practically in the 'inner life'; spending thirty years in medition. These studies, I believe, have uniquely prepared me for an upcoming project I intend to complete by 2012, entitled: THE DOOR IN THE SKY IS LOVE: Works from three Poet-Saints: Hafiz - Kabir - Rumi. WELCOME TO MY HOLLYWOOD, my second novel, is nearly complete; along with my Collected Poems, DREAMS FROM A FLOATING WORLD: 1982 -- 2012. And lastly, my second memoir, THE ACCIDENTAL MYSTIC; and my third novel, set in the South, tentatively called DALTON GENTRY, is progressing rather well. I intend to offer a handmade 'chapbook' of American Miniatures, perhaps to be named ONE JUMPS FREE. Included in this creative regimen, God willing, will be new poems, essays, short-stories. My website will offer excerpts and opinions, under the belief that the "The Purpose Of Art Is To Awaken." I've dedicated my life to "The Way Of Art." I hope the reader will find something of value in this work.
