| Dixon Kinqade (1974 - Present) is a contemporary American author of detective novels and short stories written in the cliché classic pulp style characteristic of the genre. His protagonist, Jack Dylan, is synonymous with “private detective” along side Dashiell Hammett’s Sam Spade, Raymond Chandler’s Philip Marlowe, and Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer. Kinqade’s creation of the character Jack Dylan was clearly influenced by the school of hardboiled detective fiction made famous by predecessors of the genre.
