The new thriller by Nicholas Anderson sheds light on top secret operations that took place in the 1980s and ‘90s. The title NOC stands for “Non-Official Cover” that accurately describes the kind of “black” operations the author was involved in. Unable to secure permission to publish as non-fiction, and treading on the very thin ice of the Official Secrets Act, Anderson decided to fictionalize what really happened to him in various missions behind the old Iron Curtain, the Middle East, and Africa, but also in the Bronx, NY, chasing IRA gunmen ready to kill. I tried to focus at the piece of paper, bit my lips in apprehension at doing the return journey alone, then put it in my pocket.”

For obvious reasons the author must remain anonymous. He is a British citizen, and a 19-year covert action veteran of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). He did three tours of duty, first serving in 1971-1983. He was recalled into active duty in 1992-1993 and 2003-2008, and since that time the man known as Nicholas Anderson was granted political asylum in France where he now resides.
